Bachelor of Business (Hospitality & Tourism Management)

Duration: 2-3 years (3 years normal, 2 years = fast track)

Offer only for Nov 2008: A$ 20,000 (for the whole degree)

Offer for Mar/Jul 2009: A$ 39.900


Students can also get credits when they can show an Advanced
Diploma or Associate Degree (best price).

Here is a summary of my visit at Carrick Institute of Education in
Sydney:

Location:

- Carrick has currently locations in Melbourne and Sydney

- a branch in Brisbane will be opened soon (2009)

- they also consider to open one in Adelaide later (maybe 2010)

Students: 99% international students.


Popular courses are:

- Business (especially Event management)

- Hospitality (Cookery, Pastry) and

- Hair Dressing


All courses run usually 3 days a week only! Monday –
Sunday !!!


SAMPLE Cookery course:

(Sample 7:30-14:30 Mo – So !! = 20 h + homework (5-10 hours)

1st year: concentrating on Cert. In cooking (1 day theory, 1 day work with theory, 1 day practice/cooking in school)

2nd year: theory in Diploma course

There are no work experience (regarding job placement) included,
but the institute will help finding a job.

Food is in price included.
 

SAMPLE Tourism:

For students who have already a Bachelor Degree they might get
the option into a FASR TRACK 6 months Adv. Diploma (cost 2008: A$ 4500)
